The first time I watched supernatural, the show was well into its eight season and the moment the episode ended I knew I was already part of the fandom. I spent the whole day (and the rest of my parents Internet usage) watching up to episode 16. After a brief separation from the Winchesters when things like school came up, I decided binge watch the whole series and, now, after five months or so I can say I've caught up on all 10 seasons! So here's...

Dean & Sam Winchester never wanted the life they were given. On the night of Sam's birthday, something comes in to their house and burns it down, Mother Mary and all. Bent on revenge, the brother's father, John, tries to track down the thing that killed his wife, discovering a world of Demons, Monsters and Gods. And the Winchester siblings get dragged into it too, always moving and never looking back. Sam, however, manages to leave the so called family business to go to Law school. But when their dad suddenly disappears out of the blue and the same Demon that killed their mom comes back and takes his girlfriend, he finds out that no one can escape the Hunter life. Now, Sam and Dean Winchester travel around the country, saving people and hunting things, facing endless troubles with Heaven, Hell and everything in between.

I think I've made my opinion clear from the very beginning. I love this show so much that it was my life for several months. But let me elaborate why:

First of all, the storyline is amazing. Some might think that it's confusing and it's way too meta. But that's exactly what's so amazing about it! It's not a simple typical drama or suspense programme. Supernatural has layers upon layers of plot that makes it so immersive! And I love how the sub text stays sub text instead of being the main aspect of the show. A lot of people who've watched the show before have commented on the terrible editing, but in my opinion the Graphics really don't matter.

The only things I didn’t really like was how much death there was. I’m a huge fan of using death as a tool when I’m writing, but the loss has to have some sort of significance. I found that some episodes had way too much death in them and at the beginning it was hard to handle all the gore. Also I would have preferred that the main characters don’t come back from the dead twice per season.

Aside from the death, gore and the constant resurrection, Supernatural is possibly one of the best shows I’ve ever watched and I loved every single moment with the Winchesters and “Team Free Will”. I would definitely recommend the show, but a word to the wise: this show isn’t for the weak hearted. If you get scared easily, hate puppies and despise great plot, then this show is definitely not for you. I rate this show a ASDFGHJKL; on the fangirl scream meter.
